Review of treasure hunting

After a long hunting journey, the mission for us –the Little Explorers—is yet to be accomplished. The following is our comments on the preparation to competition.
Yi-Sheng Xiao
(蕭以勝)
This activity helped me to get to know the special products in Shetou all over again. Although we had encountered many setbacks, we refused to back down, and solved all of the problems. I also learnt about team work. For example, when we were making the website, we had to finish our part and cooperate with each other to effectively follow up the schedule, and that made things easier. Shetou is a good place that yields plenty of crops and we had never paid attention to it. I hope that we still have another chance to visit these places and find new treasures.
Yi-Jia Lin
(林義家)
I used to be inattentive, but ever since I entered the competition, I started to pay attention to my hometown industry and learned about its related knowledge and spirit, also I learned to make websites. This competition helped me to know more about my hometown industry and I learned a lot from it. I also learned that unity is strength; cooperating and getting along with each other are very important. For example, when we were looking for information, we cooperated and that saved time and energy. Second, when I had encountered problems, my classmates helped me out. And also, when we were making the poster, we divided the workload and everyone took care of their parts. It seemed a difficult task, but it did not take us long to finish it. Isn’t that great? Although entering cyber fair requires hard work and time, we virtually grew and learned. I really benefited from it.
An-Lun Xiao
(蕭安倫)
I am really happy and honored to enter the cyber fair competition. This is a competition with a wide diversity. I learned a lot, enriched myself and also got to know that unity is strength. The competition helped me to see what I am good at and what I am not and enhance my ability. I learned more about pineapples, guavas, and footwear during the competition. There were many things about my hometown special products that I did not know, and now I know more about them. I also learned to make pineapple cakes and preserved guavas. Chances like this are rare, so I cherish this opportunity.
Yun-Zhen Chen
(陳妘蓁)
I learned a lot from the competition. For example, you don’t need to water pineapples too much when planting them; you have to wrap pineapples with leaves in the summer so they won’t get scorched; you can use weed mat when planting guavas so the weeds don’t take away nutrients from guavas or you can bag guavas to keep them clear of bacteria, but that can lead to a slower rate of growth; when making pineapple cakes, don’t hold them in hands for too long, or they will b oily after baked; when making preserved guavas, take notice of the plum powder. If it is sweeter, add more. I really appreciate our instructors to recruit me in the team and let me learn many things that I was unfamiliar with.
Yu-Jie Luo
(羅于捷)
We have visited many places for the competition, such as the pineapple field, guava field, SOHO sock factory, Kao Feng Food Factory, etc. I went to these places with curiosity, and I always brought home with more gains than I had expected. When we got back from the pineapple field, we knew that there are so many things to take care of when planting pineapples, including insect pests and diseases. When we got back from the guava field, we knew that guavas are like pineapples. They have insect pests and disease, too. There are so many things that we did not know. Although this is the first time I entered the competition, it may be the last time as well. I hope I still have a chance to enter competitions like such.
